We were at the mall today. Santa was there and you could take pics with him. Since Jase has never taken pics w/ him before, I thought it would be a cool thing to do. That is, until I saw the price list. Do you know it was $12.99 for ONE 5x7 picture???? Are they losing their minds? I am new to the world of taking pics w/ Santa--so I'm just curious for you experts out there--is it NORMAL for that kind of pricing??? And I think the next "package" up was like $22, which was like 2 5x7's and a couple wallets. Needless to say, I do not have a pic of Jase and Santa now. Waaah. Maybe I could make one in Photoshop. Ha.

I hear ya on that one. I never take my kids, I usually wait to go to the church Christmas party. Hahah, cheap, I know.
Did you ever see the one from last year with Carma on Santa's lap. I will have to scan it and put it on my blog, it is SO funny.
If you try to do it in photoshop post it, that is hilarious. I wonder if you could, it would be really hard, IMO.
i believe you can still have the kids see santa and take your own pic. i'm pretty sure its just the pic that costs money and not santa's lap, but you never know these days.
Our "old" mall (remember Cortana?)offers a free picture with Santa so they can get some business. I take my kiddos there and I get a pretty good sized package for about $15. The new mall has ridiculous prices like yours. I only had ONE bad experience at cortana which was last year and it's pretty funny. This was an OBESE Santa with a huge golden belt buckle like bling that said, "Santa". While my three year old, Ayden sat on his lap, he told me all about how he just moved from Texas to get away from his drug addict daughter. AWKWARD! Luckily, Ayden didn't notice. I did some detective work this year before we went to make sure we had a good Santa because now that Ayden is four, he fully understands the Santa concept. We had a good one this year and got a decent picture of the boys. Forget the smile, I call it a success as long as they aren't screaming. PS. I now have you linked on my blog so I can keep up with your blog!!
Maybe it depends on the mall, but I think Steph is right. Take your own camera and it's free. They can still have the candy, too.
