Halloween Preview

Introducing my Little Stinker, Jasey the skunk. Isn't this costume SO CUTE?? The back even has a realistic 3-D tail...that heart on the bum says "Lil' Stinker." This is by Old Navy. Their costumes are totally affordable and nice and soft, fluffy fleece. Good if you live in cold places like us.It was a lot of work to actually get him to WEAR this costume, however. The first couple of times I put it on him he screamed and cried. I finally pointed out that it had cool "paw mittens" the other night and that seemed to do the trick (he's into mittens these days).
Ha ha ha, he looks so NOT happy in this picture. Oh the costume also has a pair of matching fleece pants with these big "paw" looking things that go over his shoes. I'll post more pics after Halloween!

More Birthday Pics

After going through many pictures, I realized Jase makes this face MORE than I realized. It's funny! Then I was told by others that I also make the same face. I'm still not so sure. I hope not! :)And here it is again while he's fixing things with his power drill...(isn't his hat so cute? gift from gma jenith)
Oh look, and again while fixing our chair... Or as Jase would say- "fiskin."
This picture just makes me laugh! He was so excited about opening presents! I look pretty excited, too! Ha ha ha.
Checking out some glow stars that Connie & Larry gave him. We put them on his ceiling above his crib last night and turned out the lights. He LOVED it!

Happy 2nd Birthday Jase!

We had such a good time at Jasey's 2nd Birthday party over the weekend. He scored on lots of gifts and love from family & friends. He was thankfully in a good mood, so I really think he enjoyed himself! He kept saying "birfday" all day long. Heh heh. Here he is eating his own tiny #2 cake. He ate WAY too much of it! While he was eating it, he was watching a veggie tales sing-a-long video that my sister Ashley gave him. He loves Bob-n-Larry!
This is one of the tables I decorated. I forgot to take a picture BEFORE we ate, but oh well. I kept the food much more simple this year by doing frito pies (fritos topped with chili, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, green onions), apples with caramel & toffee, a veggie tray, and birthday cake. Oh and lemonade. Check out the awesome inflatable Larry behind the table! So cool!
These were the party favors. Personalized Hershey bar wrappers. Roob's sister Melanie makes these for her business (if you want some see her link on the right side of my blog). She was able to put Jase into the boat with the veggie characters! Ha ha. (The black marks are just there to cover up his actual birth date for privacy reasons.)
Here it is--the cake! Larry (cucumber, 1layer) was chocolate cake, and Bob (tomato, 2layers) was funfetti cake with vanilla frosting. I think it came out really cute. Then I just piped a few stars, Jase's name, and Happy Birthday around the edges of the cake board to "festive" it up a bit.
Here's a pic of this neat "craftsman" workbench with tools Roob wanted to get him. He loved it! He was running around fixing everything with those power tools! This is everyone singing happy birthday to Jasey. He was so funny. My favorite is his reaction after he blows out the candles!!! (you can pause my music player on the right so you don't hear both my songs & the video at the same time)

Third time's a charm?

So I guess now is as good a time as any to spill the beans...I'm pregnant again! I've kept it on the down-low until now in light of everything that happened with the last pregnancy. I've tried to "pretend" it wasn't real for as long as I could so that I wouldn't worry too much. I finally dragged myself into the doctor when I was 12 weeks. Luckily, everything looked just fine. I am now in my 15th week. There is a chance that we'll get to see the sex of the baby by the end of the month--I really hope so! If not, we'll have to wait another month.

I am really excited (and nervous) about having a 2nd child. Of course I want one--I just doubt my ability to keep my sanity with a newborn and a curious toddler at the same time. I may need to call in reinforcements! Otherwise, I haven't felt as sick with this pregnancy as I did with Jase (hope that means it's a girl); however, don't get me wrong--I have felt sick! It just comes and goes rather quickly, and it's usually worse at night. Yet oddly enough I'm not sick enough to keep me from eating. It has improved in the last couple of weeks, though.

My only big fear at this point is the flu. And the news media is NOT helping me feel any better about it. I am terrified of getting it--much more so than when I'm not pregnant. And I am worried about Jase getting sick. I have been on the fence about getting vaccinated (myself and/or jasey)--but for now have decided against it. H1N1 vaccine is just too new and untested for my liking, and as far as the regular flu vaccine, I've never had one before in my life--so I worry that I'll get one and have a terrible reaction to it which would cause harm to the baby...so that is enough of a concern to have me "just say no" to it for now. I will be pregnant this ENTIRE winter season, so that is just crappy timing. However, I am super pumped about a spring baby! I felt so "shut-in" when I had Jase in the late fall. It was cold, wet, yucky...couldn't go outside much at all. I cried a lot. This time around I'll be able to get some sunshine to help ward off those postpartum blues and let Jase run and play outside while I hang out on the porch with the newbie. Paints a nicer picture, doesn't it?

In the end I just keep telling myself there really isn't much I can do. I mean, I am doing my best to be extra hand-sanitizery after every store trip, church event, touching germy things, etc. And after all of that it's truly just in God's hands. It makes me feel better when I think of life that way. Do your best, and deal with what comes when it comes. Ok--easier said than done. Who am I kidding??? I am the world's biggest paranoid worry-freak alive!!!

Jase's 2nd Birthday Invites

It just occurred to me that I hadn't sent out Jase's invites yet because I hadn't even MADE them! ARGH! So I sat down at the computer, opened up Photoshop Elements and got busy as quickly as I could. I am a bit rusty in my skills, so it took me a while to remember how to do certain things. Anyways, just wanted to to post a pic of it. I just wanted something simple. I think they came out pretty cute. Roob requested a smaller party this year (last year's was BIG), so I'm trying to comply and not go too over the top. We'll see how well I can do that :) Now off to get all the other stuff done for the party...

Oh. I decided to go with a Veggie Tales theme just because Jase loves the shows SO MUCH. He requests "Bob & Larry" all the time!

Personalized T-Shirts

So I found the CUTEST t-shirt designs on etsy.com. The seller is "wtingle" and I love her stuff. Plus, she is one of the cheapest for these type of shirts. I just custom ordered one for Jase's 2nd birthday. Here's what it SORT OF will look like, but instead of the pumpkin it will have a number 2 on it. It's printed on a long sleeved white t-shirt. Cute, eh? Check out more of her stuff on her seller page on etsy. If you've never heard of "Etsy," it's a website where people sell any and every kind of homemade stuff. It is awesome!

Fun Halloween Food

How CUTE are these little mummy dogs??? Ha ha ha. I found these on Ourbestbites.com and it made me want to throw an awesome Halloween party so I could make some of her foods. Check it out HERE. Though I have to say, some of them gross me out!

Camping!

Pretty picture of our camp spot. Love that it was right on the water. Ahhhh...
We bought Jase a Mr. Potato head to keep him entertained when necessary. He loved it, but it's REALLY hard to pull the pieces in and out of it. Strange since it's made for 2 yr olds! Argh.
Photo opp during diaper change on picnic table. Hee hee.
This is how I "rough it" in the wilderness. I will never go back to tents!!!
Roob trying crazy tricks on this log with my child...oh man. but hey, it's a cute photo!
