Like Mother Like Son

Some say I tend to hum or sing when I eat. Here's Jase's version of the same. Towards the end of the clip, he gives the camera the funniest look, then pops his mouth wide open like a little baby bird. Hee hee.

Tootle Giggles

Just a sweet video of Jasey laughing. It's funny bc he's really only half heartedly laughing in this video. Like he was putting on just for me. But everything he does is so cute. And yes, I am one of those moms! Just remember, this is for all the family that lives too far away to see him.

Our Pootle Toots

Thought this was a cute shot of him focusing so hard
on getting a piece of food into his pouty little mouth.Showin' off those big, blue eyes he got from dad!
A happy shot of him doing what he does best--playin' in the tub! I have to watch him closely with this particular toy, though, bc one time he got that little purple wing stuck in his mouth. (Kind of like if you propped a toothpick in your mouth to keep it open). Poor thing!

Jase's New Trick

I think Jase is mimicking me with this "movement" since I tend to do it a lot when I'm being silly with him. I couldn't resist putting a few finishing touches on this! He does it ALL the time!

The Proof is in the Pickle

Tee hee. Check out the avid grunting!

New Favs

I am in LOVE with this picture of Jase. I took it while he was bathing the other night. OMG he cannot get ANY cuter!! Plus, he loves his baths, so it was cute to capture him enjoying the moment. I have been working with him on sitting up by himself. This is a picture of the first day we tried it (about 2 weeks ago). Now he is doing AWESOME all by himself. He can sit up for really long periods of time before he topples over.
I just took this pic while we were driving in the car on Sunday. He was being a little fussy, so I climbed into the back seat and pulled out the trusty ol' pickle. Worked like a charm! He power sucks on the pickle like it was his bottle. It is so funny! Mr. Sensitive wanted me to hold it for him since he was being a bit grumpy. I'll let it slide this time...

Mother's Day Happenings

First we went to see Roob's parents, and his sister Lecia and her family were there.
That's Roob's mom in the background! :) This is a pic of Roob's nephew and dad.Later we visited my mom for a little dinner. Roob busted out the ol' guitar and played some tunes for Jasey, while mom got his pickle ready for him to eat. Yes, he actually likes pickles! Here he is getting a yummy taste!
My brother, Nathan, and his cutie patootie baby!
I'm just helping Jase stand up and stretch his legs.

Katrina gets too Personal

Below is my grandmother's cute little house in New Orleans. Sadly, she doesn't live there anymore. Hurricane Katrina came through, the levee broke, and well, the rest is history. (Don't worry, though, she had evacuated!) Recently she sold what's left of her home. Many of the homes on her street have been completely redone and look so stinkin' cute! Other areas of New Orleans have not been so lucky. Some of the more impoverished areas have been completely abandoned. If you look closely you can see where the water line was. It's below the windowsill. But to be more specific, that is where the water line ENDED up after the storm. During the storm it was up to the ceiling inside the home. This was the first time I had been back to Louisiana since the disaster. I wasn't as prepared as I thought when I walked inside. I cried like a baby. Too many memories.
This used to be the ol' family room where I spent hours and hours as a child, watching TV, opening presents, and just being with my grandparents. Since I was born they lived in this house, so I pretty much grew up in it. I moved away when I was 19. Afer the storm, it was weeks and weeks before my grandmother went back. Can you imagine coming home to your house turned topsy turvy inside and covered with slimy sludge and mold??? Ugh. I'm surprised she was able to handle it. She still gets sad, though. She framed a picture of her house so she could remember it. She lost pretty much everything. Along with a giant drawer full of all my childhood pics. As I stood there, it was hard to believe that it's been over 3 years since the storm.
On a lighter note, her tub was so cool! I loved the black and white tiles! It even had the old school hardware on it. Now it's just full of dried up dirt and muck. Funny to think this thing used to keep me clean! I need to get in there with some comet and a wire brush! :)
This is the entrance to the kitchen, and the pantry that I would always hit up for chips, cookies, or some other snack. Heh heh.
Well, even though it was tough to see, I'm glad I got a few snapshots for the history books!

American Idol 5.06.08

As usual, I must state my opinions!
David C - "Hungry Like a Wolf" was a bad choice. He's done MUCH better on previous shows. Didn't really love his 2nd song, either.
Syesha - Good on the "Proud Mary" song. But LOVED the 2nd song she did! I have to say that I didn't start liking her UNTIL she started kickin' butt these last 2 weeks or so. Like huh? Where did this come from? She has a pretty good voice. I wish I could do that with mine!
Jason - Better start packin' the suitcase! I think he should have left before Brooke. But he's a good, simple singer (except Bob Marley song was bad). He's just too folky for me.
David A - He did good on both of his songs, but he still bugs me. He's too sheepish about everything. And have you noticed how ENORMOUS his hand looks? I guess he still hasn't grown into it yet. Heh. Ok, that is mean, but next time watch and you'll see! And he always waves it around in an awkward manner. Strange. (I know all you David A. lovers are hating on me now!) As Simon would say in his British accent, "It's just an opinion. Sorry!"

Fun on the Hammock

I thought these were so funny! Esp the one where Jase has his hand on top of Jazzmyn's head! Ha! And also in that pic you can see how big he really is. Remember he is 2 months younger than her!
