Random Stuff

Okay, the first pics are just random pictures of our boat. Check out that speaker set! Woo hoo, that's my favorite part. And you can see the pretty mountanis behind Reuben in one of those pictures, too. Sorry the boat is a mess, though. I finally remembered to take pics after a long day of boating fun.

I also had to post these pictures of Goosie, even though most of you probably don't think she's as cute as I think she is! We just got her cut (she was so raggedy) and they put these little bows on her ears. They only last a day, so I had to sneak some shots of her before they fell off. Look how her cute tongue always sticks out, too. She's so sweet...I love her face! (you can see her better if you click on the pictures to enlarge them)

New Light Fixture...Before and After! Woo Hoo!

Just happened to be at Lowe's pricing out flooring when this light fixture caught our attention! It used to be $120 and now it was only $59 so we couldn't pass it up. The first pic is the "before" and the second pic is the "after." I freakin' love it! It is hanging over our dining room table. So cute!

Recent Pic of Me

Ok, everyone wants to see what I look like, so here's the best I can do so far. This was taken a few days ago at a Girls Night Out party my friend Kiki threw. (kiki is on the right) You can't really tell how pregnant I am in this pic, so I will try to have Reuben take some better shots of me to upload.

Ok I have a new car seat dilemma now. Went to babiesrus to see if the car seat I liked would fit into my car correctly. NOPE. Panic panic panic! I ended up crying about it in the "mother's room" at the store so nobody could see me so upset over the dumbest thing. We even tried 3 models of carseats, too. My only hope is that when it's actually "buckled/strapped" in, I will get that extra inch I need to have it fit better in the car. Right now it is jammed up against the backs of the seats in the car. Grr. And I guess they also say not only do you need an inch of space between the carseat and the seat backs, you are also supposed to keep the carrying bar on the car seat down while it's in the car, which takes up even more space! I swear I could scream! I drive a subaru outback--I thought that was sort of a "family" car. Well, I'm done venting for now. I will take Roob down there with me and we'll look at it again...then decide from there what to do.

Car Seat Dilemma

Well, I think I have finally found an infant carrier that I like! (been looking forever) The green & gray one will carry a baby up to 22 lbs, and the orange & gray one will go up to 30 lbs. However, the green one is at least 2 to 3 pounds LIGHTER than the orange one. Hmm. Decisions. Yes, Captain Indecisivo is here. First of all, any of you moms/nannies/big sisters, etc. know anything about the Chicco brand? I like the looks of their stuff--it's pretty cute. And these cannot get ANY easier to install in your car. The babiesrus person showed me and she did it in like 5 seconds. Awesome. I like the green one the best (for the color combo), but the orange is ok, too. Just a bit more showy. I guess I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to get the orange one since I can keep the baby in it that entire first year. But, since it is a heavier carrier, at some point I'll have to actually take the baby out of the carseat and carry him in my arms--but isn't that what you do at some point anyways? Like when they "graduate" to the bigger carseats? So the only drawback to getting the bigger one is that when the baby is smaller, I'll be carrying an extra 3 lbs of carseat weight in and out of the car. But, the advantage is that I think I will have a "bigger" baby, so if he is heavier than most or taller than most, he can chill in that carseat for a long time and not look like a freak of a child with arms and legs sprawling out of the smaller green one. Any thoughts? (please leave comments) Thanks.

My New Favorite Present

How FREAKING cute are these binky holders? My friend, Becky, sent them to me from Texas! She makes them! I told her she needs to hit up some of those trendy baby boutique stores and sell them there. She'd make a killing! They are so adorable I can't wait for little jones to get here so I can use them!!! (if you click on the picture, you can see its original size) I am in looooove with them! I was showing Reuben and was squealing about how much I love them, and he's like, "yeah they are cute." Just like a guy. But I know you girls would be as excited as I am. I just love baby stuff that is trendy like this, and it is so hard to find! Everything is so "winnie the pooh" or "dora the explorer" and I'm not a big fan of that stuff. So thanks, Becky, you are the best! You have saved me from a winnie the pooh binky holder! I bet you tons of moms will ask me where I got them, too. Figure out a price, and I'll let them buy them from you! :) Hee hee.

My Project

Hello my friends! I was so excited about finding this cool shelf at a garage sale for $10. It was green, and I just finished painting it black on Saturday. I'm going to use it for the baby's room. I think it came out pretty nice looking, eh? I also am uploading some pics of Roob's family from the week of the 4th of July...we all went up to our property and hung out for the day (only Roob, his brother Robert, and myself stayed the night in our trailer.) The two cute kids are both Reuben's sister Melanie's kids. The boy is Luke and the girl is Sarah. I thought they were cute pictures of the both of them. Ok here's who's who: Picture #1 L to R--Roob's sister Lecia, one of her boys, Roob's sister Melanie, and Lecia's husband Kurt. Picture #2 L to R--Roob's sister Marylinn, Roob's dad Larry, Roob's mom Connie. Picture #3--Robert (roob's brother) and Reuben.

4D Ultrasound

Oh today was so cool! I invited my mom & Roob's mom to come to this ultrasound appt. (and of course Roob). They used the newest, most up to date machine on me this time and it was the best view of the baby I've had to date. It was really cool. We saw a couple glimpses of the baby that were unbelievable...some of them were captured on my DVD, and they printed out a few, but I'm sure we missed catching the best ones on tape. Anyways, the sound waves literally bounce off of the baby to create a "topographical" map of surface of the baby. You can literally see the baby's features. It's amazing. (in the third picture, the baby has the heel of his arm rubbing one eye, and the other hand is just on his lower cheek of his face. at first it looks funny but you should be able to see it) Well since the picture is so much better, can I tell you we DEFINITELY could tell it was a boy this time? We all died laughing when I asked the technician if she could measure it for us! (I couldn't resist) She even punched me and told me that no one has ever asked her to do that, but she did it! I am still laughing about it b/c it was funny to me.

Oh something else that was funny is that at the beginning of the appointment, there was a "student technician" in the room who started me off, and when she saw his malehood, she literally said, "ok and there's his nuts." I got the giggles so bad b/c what doctorish person says "nuts"? HAAAAA! So then she was like, "oh, uh...I mean scrotum." It was funny. I told her not to worry about it, she can talk like that in front of us. :) Too funny. What else? Hmmm...oh the technician told us that all his measurements are really good, and he's in the 73rd percentile for his size (he's 1 lb. 10 oz), and she could also see that his bladder was full (sign that he is drinking) and that his kidneys are functioning, and that his heart looks really good and healthy. Hooray! What a relief! It was amazing b/c I could see all that stuff that she was pointing out. I couldn't believe that this ultrasound machine was THAT much better than the one I'm usually on when I'm there. I hope I get to use it again as the baby gets even bigger.

Fat Feet

Well, it has begun! My first experience with swollen feet and ankles! GAH! I spent all day in the sun by the pool in Lava, and at the end of the day I put on my "Crocs" (these comfy, rubbery shoes) and I noticed they were really tight and uncomfortable (which is not normal). I looked down at my feet and was like, "oh my goodness they are huge"! My poor feet were so swollen, I should've taken a picture of them. Even my toes looked like vienna sausages! Sick! When I walk it hurts b/c the skin is so tight. I've also been struggling with some serious foot pain, like the bones are separating and spreading out (which after doing some research on it, this is probably really happening to my feet). I can't be on them for more than an hour without needing to sit down to give them some relief! So I think I will be buying myself a pair of Chaco's--pictured above--(awesome sandals that are very pricey, but offer good support for your arches, etc.). The only thing I'm worried about is that it's very likely my feet will grow at least a half size bigger, so I don't want to buy these shoes, only to not be able to wear them ever again. They cost too much for that! Ah, the fun side effects of bringing a child to this earth! :)

Oh the brighter side, it's been SO COOL to feel little baby jones moving around all the time now. I haven't seen a foot poking out of my stomach yet, but I sure can feel him wiggle and poke around in there. I like knowing he's moving and that's he's alive and well. It really is a cool feeling!
