Jase's Upcoming Bday

It's about a month away so I just thought I'd see if anyone has a fabulous 1st birthday party idea. I'm open to anything. I have a lot to do!!!

I think you should take a trip to Hawii for Jase's 1st bday. You did it, you survived the 1st year!

No ideas, we kept it simple, it was fun letting her have a cake all to herself though.

Definitely letting him smash the chocolate B-day cake in his hands and fingers and on his face- too cute for words to see.

an awesome new toy to unwrap.

some new Jammies to tuck him in that night, maybe with a cartoon character that he'll start getting into soon.

and lots of family to surround him and love him.

and then a game for him to play- I'll think on that one

love you all :)

I have been wondering about this, too. We are going to be out of town all week for his big day, so I'm thinking we're going to keep it very simple. But part of me wants to throw a big birthday bash when we get back! I still haven't decided if its worth it, though... I better decide quickly, huh?! I like the rare-its' ideas, though. That seems easy but also meaningful and memorable. One thing I am going to do is start a birthday book. I don't scrapbook, so this sounded cool to me. You get an empty book and put their handprints on the first page and have everyone at their first birthday party sign it or write a little birthday message. I'll also include a pic from the party on the page. Then each year do the same thing (have a page per year) until he's 30 or something! :) I thought it might be cool for him to be able to see who all was at each birthday party each year. Anyway, just a little idea... Good luck - let me know what you come up with!

i look at the first birthday as a party for the adults sure there is cake but the food and fun is all for you. we had a family barbeque for yve's 1st bday and i made cupcakes. its always fun to see the little tykes face when they have a cake in front of them. she didn't know what to do with it, so she went mouth first onto the cupcake. i believe i had to pick it up for her so she could eat it, which is still the case after 5 years. she still doesn't like her hands messy. we are planning to do the same thing for oliver. since november is great outside weather. have fun planning.
