Sittin' on Top of the World

Ha! I love this picture bc he looks so teeny in this big ol' high chair! This is a present from my aunts, and we had it sitting in the box bc he is too young to eat solids foods just yet. So Roob had the idea to whip it out and try using it for him now bc he likes to sit straight up. So far we are LOVING it. It can recline, has different height adjustments, and has wheels so you can roll it around where ever you are. It also has an awesome harness in it so he won't slide out of the chair. When I prop him up on the sofa, he tends to wriggle down on his back in a matter of seconds. This chair ROCKS. Plus it matches my living room, so that is a bonus! And, the tray actually hooks on the back of the chair when you are not using it. Love it!
I think he looks like he's about to go skydiving or something with this harness on! (this is the highchair, not the carseat)

My Little Hand-y Man

I am finally figuring out that if I upload videos to Photobucket first and paste in the html code, it is WAY faster than just trying to upload them with Blogger only. Just an FYI for you new bloggers out there!

Ok, this is a short video of Jase discovering his little hands (hope grandpa enjoys this since he hasn't seen him since November). It's so cute! And I am in love with his fancy orange vest from Baby Gap. It is a tad big on him, but he doesn't seem to mind.

House For Rent

Well we have finally done it! (and I am scared out of my mind!) We found a home to purchase as an investment property. It's 5 bedrooms (3 up, 2 down), 2 baths, and has a mother-in-law apartment with its own separate entrance. It's on the northeast side of Ogden, and we're looking to rent it for about $975/mo. We don't allow smoking. It has 2 covered parking spaces, and extra "RV" parking on the side (so you can park about 4 cars on your property). The upstairs has been remodeled (the kitchen is so cute!), has refinished old hardwood floors, some new carpet, and a newly remodeled bathroom. Please send anyone you know who might be interested our way! Thanks for your help! It will be ready to rent by March 2008.

It's "Snow" Joke

Woo hoo! Look at the snow! This is my FRONT YARD, people! I have lived here since 1994, and I have NEVER seen this much snowfall! I tried to take a bunch of pictures to show you some perspective of how deep it really is out here. Just today we got about 2 more feet! Funny how little Goose almost blends right into the snow "wall." Here's Gator and I just to the east of my house. That's our 5th wheel on the left, and our buried house on the right. Crazy!
Here I am taking a small rest. I shoveled off the porch and it took me almost 2 hours! Ugh! I wanted to die. The snow was soooo deep. As you can see, the snow level is EVEN with the porch, so instead of being able to just push it off, I had to actually lift the snow and hurl it over the railing. Made for some good exercise, though.
Reuben has spent HOURS every snowstorm (which we've had quite a few of) snowblowing the driveway, stairs, walking paths for the dogs, etc. He has also had to dig out our basement windows, which have been BURIED from snow sliding down our roof. Just today he accidentally snowblowed over Gator's doggy dish, which temporarily broke the snowblower and forced him to go into town to buy new bolts or something. He's had to do that more than once these last few weeks, since our snowblower is on its last leg. Just buy a new one, you say? Ha! You can't find a snowblower ANYWHERE in town! They are all SOLD OUT. This snow is insane!
Here's Roob again standing in front of an impressive mound of snow in our driveway. Wowzers!

Shoveler on the Roof

I wonder what Reuben is standing on top of ??? Wait for it...Holy moly, it's our RV Trailer!!! Ha! He had to get up there and shovel off the snow b/c the roof was starting to cave in! OH NO! While shoveling he broke two of the vent covers, and had to go buy 2 new ones. A couple days later, a new snowstorm just replaced all the snow he shoveled off of there. Gah! It never ends!
We are starting to worry about our "RV parking" behind our garage. The weight of the snow is starting to take its toll on the 2 trusses holding up the roof. If you look closely, you can see that the rain gutter has already started to give way...hmmm. I better keep the dogs out of there. You never know when it may come crashing down. We just hope it doesn't take the entire garage with it! Even that roof is bearing a lot of snow weight. *sigh* And the snow just keeps a-comin'!

I'm Not Moosin' Around

Yep, we had a momma moose and her baby hanging out in my back yard the other day! Too cool! There has been so much snow in the mountains that they are coming down into the valley to look for food. While they were here, they made themselves comfy under the shelter of our trees. They also enjoyed a couple "leafy" snacks.
Ok, these last 2 pics are kind of "foggy" b/c I took them from inside my house. They moved MUCH closer so I hurried and grabbed the camera again. The baby is on the left. CUTE!
Since our dogs were going ballistic, we had to call the forest service to come take care of the moose "problem." A whole bunch of them came with trucks, rifles, sleds, and a trailer. But don't worry, they didn't kill them--they just tranquilized them, put them on the sled, pulled them across an acre of land, and loaded them in the trailer. I believe they took them back into the mountains and released them. It was surreal!

More Jasey Face

I had a couple more pics that I wanted to post on here, since I know people like looking at those. In this one, he has the funniest expression on his face! I have no idea how to interpret it.I love this picture, because you can see his cute little chin! (normally, he has a big chubby double chin when he's sitting up, and you can't see his 1st chin's shape. heh heh)
Ok this one captures his CRAzzZy hair! Ha! Talk about a frizz out! But I love it!
I muted the colors in this picture a bit to give it that old timey look. I think he looks like a little train conductor. Is that what you call them?

3 Month Old Gangsta'

"Yeah, I know I look all sweet and innocent now, but if I don't get my milk when I want it--LOOK OUT!" (mommy's gangsta)"Alrighty then, dad! Enough with the kisses and cuddles! Blech!"
"Smiles? That is what you wanted from me this entire time? Well, NOW you tell me!"
"Mom, I'm getting really irritated with this little photoshoot you got goin' on!"
"Ahhh, the photoshoot is finally over and I can lay here, relax, and dream of milk land."

Ready for Bed

Well I don't really have any pics to post except this one of me and the baby in our jammies. This is the first picture I've seen of myself where I think I look like my mother (I've always said I look like my dad). I'm not sure what it is, but it's a little something. The picture shows the final part of our "bedtime routine." He gets bathed, swaddled up, binky in the mouth, and then held for 5-10 minutes until those little eyes start closing. Then he's off to the crib!

I finally got a couple of real estate leads that I've been working on. Woo hoo! It's nice to have something to do. I took Jase to the office with me a couple of times this week. He's pretty good, but the only time I really get something done is when he is asleep (usually only about 1 hr at a time in between feeds and diaper--or clothing--changes).

The Superman Prayer

When my cousins were here a few weeks ago, I got this clip of Emma's favorite blessing on the food (Emma is on the left, her sister Abby on the right). It's a classic! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

*Jasey* 10-11 weeks old

Our little guy is growing up so fast! Just today this lady said to me, "Oh he's about 6 months old, right?" To which I replied, "Nope. Amazingly he's only about half that old!" So I thought I better post some more pictures of him so y'all can keep up, too!

This is his first official curly mohawk do'. It also reminds me of Ace Ventura's hair when he's wearing the pink tu tu.
I am in LOVE with this picture. My little couch potato! If you look closely, I had to unbutton his jeans bc his belly is too big for them! So cute!
This one reminds me of a little preppie boy--like he's about to go to the library and read up on some assignment.
We use this swaddle wrap like crazy! I had to take a picture of him in it before he grows out of it. It is so helpful at night since it keeps him from moving his arms and waking himself up. He looks like a little papoose, or maybe a hotdog!
Love this little moose romper. And check out the cute chicken blanket he's laying on! Meredith made that for him for xmas. It is so adorable. She also made a "mommy-sized" one for me!

Twilight is Finished

Well, I am done. I finished it rather quickly. It's easy reading (guess so if it's for "juveniles"). Ok, it took me quite a few chapters to get "into" the story, but about halfway through it got really interesting. Though I can't say it's the BEST book I've ever read (which is the description many friends gave to me, and then some), it is good. I think it was overhyped for me, so I expected way too much out of the story. However, it's pretty creative writing. I'd give it 3 stars! I just bought her second book in the series, New Moon, and I read 2 chapters already. It starts out MUCH better than book 1. I think the problem with the first book is that EVERYONE (meaning us, the readers) already knows that Edward is a vampire, so it is FRUSTRATING to wait for the main character in the book to figure it out. That is what drove me insane. I hear they books improve as they go. Cool. Oh, I do have to say that whoever designed the books' covers did an awesome job. They really have a look that reflects the story contained inside. I just like the look of them.

Look Alike Contest

Ok here are a couple pictures of Jase, next to pictures of Reuben and I when we were babies. I'm not sure how hold either of us are in our pictures, but it was fun to compare them and see who Jase resembles and how. We think he has my facial features but Roob's chin and face shape...what do y'all think?

Penguin Man?

I don't know why, but these two pics of him in this snow suit crack me up. His arms don't quite fill out the sleeves all the way, so the ends were flapping around like a penguin. I grabbed the camera just in time.
This picture is for my sister to see. She bought him these cool camo pants for Christmas. Grandma Jenith got him to smile for the camera!
Just a cute picture Roob took of him while he was chillin' out. And check out the cute striped blanket behind him...that was Roob's xmas gift from Meredith. It is sooo cool! She made it!

The Gift of Family

I was able to spend Saturday and part of Sunday at my mom's house. Mitzi, Uncle Mike, and the girls were still there, and Michael, Nathan, Meredith, and Hibbin came over, too. That was the most family we've ever had in one setting here. It was fun to look around and see all of us together. I really enjoyed hanging out. And what a special Christmas gift to us all to have my Aunt's family come to visit--especially to see our two new babies.

Below are my two brothers, Michael & Nathan:L to R: Uncle Mike, Aunt Mitzi, cousin Abby, Michael, and Nathan.
Meredith & Hibbin (couldn't fit them in the above picture, so they get their own shot).
Couisin Abby feeding Jasey for me. How nice! He seemed to like it!

Twilight

Ok. I have heard enough hype about this book called "Twilight" for a few months now. I have given in to my curiosity (despite the theme of this book) and purchased myself a copy. For the very few of you that haven't heard about it, it is a love story between a mortal girl and a vampire boy. Yes, I know what you are thinking because that is what I am thinking. This has to be so dumb! Well, I have read my first few pages and so far, it isn't a "page turner," but I hear you have to give it a couple chapters. (Ok, I am putting my trust in that.) Anyways, the author is Stephanie Meyers, a BYU grad, and her books have made it onto the New York Times Bestseller list. Yay for her!

So here is my funny story. When I went to Costco and picked it up, I noticed the sticker on the book (Costco's price sticker) said "juvenille." GAH how embarrassing! Juvenille! To think a 30 something year old would buy a juvenille book?! So I go to pay for the book and get this, the checker (who was a male) says to me, "Are you buying this book for YOU???" I wasn't sure how to respond since I was completely embarrassed. Hesitantly I stated, "yes." Then he proceeded to tell me how his mother and wife wouldn't shut up about the book, but how he thought the book's premise sounded so dumb. I laughed and told him I had finally heard enough about it, and I wanted to find out for myself. I'd have to let him know how I liked it. So I'll let you know, too.

Sweet Baby Jones...

I think these pictures speak for themselves. I got this hat & mittens on clearance at Old Navy last night. As soon as I saw it on him, I ran to grab my new camera I got for Christmas (thanks Santa Reuben) and started snapping pictures. He is too cute, I can't stand it!
I love this one:
Just chillin' out, getting in some "tummy" time.
The two sisters (Mitzi & Jenith), and Jasey.

Popsicle Toes

Today my cousins, their parents, and my mom came up to our house and we went snow tubing. It was super dooper cold (about 15 degrees) and we were in the shade. But we had so much fun. Emma, I think, had the most fun b/c when it was time to go, she cried and cried and had to be carried to the car. Awww...Then we went back to my house for a giant sam's club pizza and hot chocolate with peppermint sticks. YUMMY.

Ok, this is Miss Abby--she is so full of energy and always up for a good time! This is Miss Emma--could this pose be any CUTER?
Here are the proud parents--Aunt Mitzi and Uncle Mike!
And of course Reuben and myself. My hat was falling down over my eyes. So silly!
Well, my mom was there, too, but I don't have a pic of her out in the snow. She was being nice by letting me have a turn to sled, while she watched Jasey in the car.
